Karoline Lewis leads first two Speakman Online Series Events
While we are certainly disappointed that we are not hosting an in-person Bible and Church Music Conference this summer due to COVID-19, we were thrilled to have the Rev. Dr. Karoline Lewis, Marbury E. Anderson Chair in Biblical Preaching at Luther Seminary, help us launch our Speakman Online Series with two wonderful events.
Each year since 1997, the Speakman Fund, honoring the memory of Frederick Speakman, has brought inspirational preachers and teachers to the Massanetta Bible Conference. This year, the Speakman Fund will support several online events beginning with two in July.
First, Karoline was the preacher for our Pastor's Sunday Off on July 26th. Her sermon focused on John 4:1-6 and was entitled “Going to Sychar.” Approximately twenty churches signed up to use it in their video worship services, and we also were able to gather some of the Massanetta Community on the 26th at 7:00 which would have been the exact time opening worship for the Bible and Church Music Conference Should have happened. You can view the full worship service below.
Second, Karoline led an online Bible Study entitled, "Knowing a Christian When You See One." Karoline helped us explore the Holy Spirit in the Gospel of John, and encouraged us to see how the stories of five different women in the Gospel embodied spirit-filled attributes of Jesus followers. You can find recordings of the two webinars below, and you can also see a .pdf copy of her slide deck from the webinar presentations.
Karoline also provided the slides she used in the presentations.

We are grateful to both our attendees and especially Rev. Dr. Karoline Lewis for a thoughtful and engaging introduction to our Speakman Online Series! We look forward to bringing you more events in the coming months.
