Our Journey Together Walking as Families of Faith
The joy -- and yes the challenges -- of being a family today are stunning! It is a journey that unparallels all others. And, as families of faith, seeking to know and follow God, we recognize the journey of a family as one that begins at birth and never stops. Families are the primary imparters of faith and no where do our children and youth learn more about God and God's work in the world than at home. Parents are also learning as we go! So, the journey together, the walk of faith day after day, is what this weekend will encourage and empower. We are followers of Jesus Christ and this informs every step of our lives. Join with other families to enjoy a weekend of fun, of fellowship and of growing in faith and yes, of journeying with your own family, walking together as people of God.
Krista Lovell has been walking the faith journey with families for over 25 years and enjoying every step of the way! As a certified educator, pastor’s wife, and mother of three grown (and almost grown) children, Krista has a passion for resourcing parents along the journey. Krista shares that "...through the sharing of stories, and THE story, we can learn from one another, celebrate with one another, and grow with one another as the children of God." Krista has served churches in North Carolina, Virginia, Alabama and now Tennessee and has served as a writer for the PCUSA for several years, lending her creativity to We Believe Rotation and We Believe – Younger Elementary and Older Elementary. Krista loves “custom writing” forchurches and is just finishing the full curriculum for Milestones Ministry at First Presbyterian Church in Nashville, TN which celebrates the spiritual milestones of children from baptism through confirmation. Krista has also written The One Story of the Bible – Part One: Old Testament and Part Two: New Testament which serves as the curriculum for grades 4 and 5 at FPC. Krista is a quilter and an avid collector of children’s books.
